Two Arrested as DCI Recovers Stolen Police Gun in Kajiado North

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kajiado North, working jointly with officers from Ngong Police Station, have arrested two suspects and recovered a firearm previously robbed from a police officer.

The DCI said that the intelligence-led operation, conducted in Kware and Mandazi Road areas within Rongai town, led to the arrest of Cyrus Mureithi Mburu and Peter Kangethe.

On conducting a search at Cyrus Mburu’s residence, officers recovered a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a half-litre of gun oil.

“A further search led to the recovery of a Ceska pistol (serial number F9418), earlier robbed from an officer attached to the Security of Government Buildings (SGB),” DCI said in a statement.

Detectives also recovered two imitation firearms, a pair of handcuffs, keys and a Maasai sword. DCI said that the items have been secured as exhibits.

The suspects are currently in custody at Ngong Police Station pending arraignment, as investigations continue.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the public, protecting government assets, and relentlessly pursuing individuals involved in criminal activities.
