The Guardian Coach has strongly dismissed claims that the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) suspended the operating licenses of its fleet of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) over non-compliance.

In a statement issued on Monday January 19, 2026, the company assured that it was fully operation and urged its customers to treat the information as false.
“Our attention has been drawn to fake news and false information circulating on social media that the Guardian coach fleet of PSV vehicles has been suspended by the NTSA,” the company noted.
“We confirm to our customers unreservedly that NTSA has not suspended our operations as a PSV operator within the Republic of Kenya,” the statement added.
Guardian however acknowledged NTSA’s mandate of enhancing quality service by the public transport sector, adherence to rules and regulations and compliance with the law.
The Guardian Coach reiterated that it is compliant with the laws governing the transport sector and is committed to working hand in hand with NTSA.
“We note, and are aware, that it is within the mandate of NTSA to continuously interact and engage with the PSV operators, including ourselves, in bolstering the quality of services offered,” the firm stated.
On Monday, NTSA suspended four public transport operators including Naekana, Monna Comfort, Greenline and Uwezo Coast Shuttle, following a series of fatal crashes recorded during the 2025 festive season.
The safety authority however granted The Guardian Coach and Nanyuki Express Cab Services Ltd a 21-day window to comply with the provisions of NTSA, failure to which their operating licences will be suspended.
According to NTSA, the two saccos will be required to disengage drivers involved in the speed violations, and will be required to undergo a driver re-test before their licenses are reinstated.
As per the communique, NTSA suspended licenses of 18 Guardian Coach drivers and 26 Nanyuki Express drivers.
“To this end, the public is hereby advised not to board vehicles belonging to the suspended Saccos as this measure is part of our unwavering commitment to ensuring the highest standards of passenger safety,” NTSA announced.
