The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has reminded motor vehicle owners to collect their unclaimed physical logbooks, warning that any documents left uncollected for more than six months will be disposed of in line with the Authority’s policy.

In a public notice issued on Tuesday July 14, the Authority said it will not store currently printed logbooks beyond the six-month period, urging affected motorists to collect the documents promptly to avoid inconvenience.
The reminder comes five months before the expiry of the deadline announced in a public notice issued on June 11, 2026.
“The Authority wishes to inform all motor vehicle owners that NTSA will not store currently printed and yet to be collected logbooks for more than a period of six (6) months. After the 6 months period, all uncollected logbooks will be disposed of in accordance with the Authority’s policy,” the notice read.
NTSA further warned that motorists will not be able to access services requiring a copy of a logbook unless they attach the current or original logbook to their application.
“Clients will not be able to access services that require a copy of the logbook without attaching the current/original logbook in their application,” the Authority said.
Motorists collecting their logbooks have been advised to carry the previous logbook and a valid identification document for verification at their designated NTSA office or collection centre.
The Authority also clarified that the collection of physical logbooks is free of charge and cautioned members of the public against paying for the service.
NTSA said its offices nationwide remain open from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., to facilitate the collection process and provide assistance to motorists.
