ASP Forensic Expert Testifies in Tob Cohen Murder Trial

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on Monday presented its seventh witness in the ongoing murder trial of Tob Cohen before the Kibera Law Courts.

Appearing before Justice Diana Kavedza, the prosecution team, led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Vincent Monda and assisted by Wangui Gikui, Sarah Ogweno, Christine Timoi and Peris Maina, called Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Beneutychus Wanjohi, a forensic expert specialising in imaging and acoustics, to testify.

During his testimony, ASP Wanjohi presented photographic evidence documenting the crime scene and the compound where Cohen’s body was allegedly recovered.

The court admitted the digital photographs as prosecution exhibits, with the images expected to help the court visualise the scene and support the prosecution’s forensic evidence.

“ASP Wanjohi produced photographic evidence documenting the crime scene and the compound where the deceased’s body was allegedly recovered,” DPP said in a statement.

“The digital images were admitted as exhibits to assist the court in visualising the scene and to support the prosecution’s forensic case.”

Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, Cohen’s widow, is facing a murder charge in connection with his death. She remains in custody after being denied bail.

The case will resume for further hearing on September 28, 29 and 30, 2026, as the prosecution continues to present its witnesses.
