Kenya Airways has announced the resumption of flights between Nairobi and Dubai beginning Thursday May 14, 2026, following a temporary suspension of operations on the route.

In a customer update issued on May 13, the airline said it will initially operate daily flights between the two cities, with additional frequencies to be introduced progressively based on demand and operational requirements.
The suspension had been in place for more than two months following the outbreak of the Iran conflict and the closure of UAE airspace.
Kenya Airways had suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah on February 28, 2026, citing safety concerns after escalating military tensions in the Middle East triggered widespread airspace closures across the Gulf region.
“We will operate daily frequencies between Nairobi and Dubai, with additional frequencies to be introduced progressively in line with demand and operational requirements,” KQ said in a statement on May 13.
The national carrier further said the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority, adding that it continues to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure safe and seamless operations.
“The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority, and we continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure safe and seamless operations,” the Airlines added.
Kenya Airways also advised customers seeking bookings, enquiries or travel assistance to use the airline’s website, mobile application or customer support channels.
The Dubai route is considered one of Kenya Airways’ key international connections, linking Nairobi to the Middle East hub and providing onward connections to global destinations.
