Kenya Met Forecasts Rain, Cool Conditions in Several Regions This Week

The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent cool and cloudy conditions across several parts of the country during the week of June 30 to July 6, 2026, with rainfall expected in a number of regions.

According to the weekly weather outlook, cool and cloudy weather is likely to prevail over parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Rift Valley, and Northeastern Kenya.

The department also projects rainfall in the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, and along the Coastal region, urging residents in the affected areas to keep track of weather updates.

“Intermittent cool and cloudy conditions are expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Southeastern Lowlands, the Rift Valley & Northeastern Kenya,” Kenya Met said.

“Rainfall is expected over the Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, and the Coast. Daytime (maximum) average temperatures of more than 30°C are expected in some parts of the Coast, Northeastern and Northwestern Kenya.”

Meanwhile, daytime temperatures are expected to remain high in parts of the Coast, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya, where average maximum temperatures are forecast to exceed 30 degrees Celsius.

In contrast, chilly nights are expected in a few areas of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and the vicinity of Mount Kilimanjaro, where average minimum temperatures are likely to fall below 10 degrees Celsius.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has advised the public to stay informed through its regular weather updates and take appropriate precautions in areas expected to experience rainfall or extreme temperatures.
