Detectives have intensified operations against sexual exploitation and the production of obscene material in Kiserian and Ongata Rongai, uncovering suspected criminal enterprises targeting young women.

In a raid conducted at a house in the Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai, police acting on public tips discovered 30 women aged between 19 and 27 who were allegedly being exploited in a commercial explicit-content production scheme.

During a search of the premises, officers recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras and other equipment believed to have been used in the production of obscene material.

Suspects linked to the operation were arrested and are being held at Ongata Rongai Police Station as investigations continue ahead of their arraignment.

A separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian led to the rescue of 18 women who detectives said had been lured by false promises of domestic employment before allegedly being subjected to sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.

The joint operation by officers from Kiserian and Ongata Rongai Police Stations resulted in the recovery of mobile phones, laptops, and other items believed to have been used in the commission of the offences. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The main suspect in the Kiserian case remains at large, with detectives pursuing leads to locate and arrest the individual.

Authorities said arrangements are underway to provide the rescued women with safe shelter and access to comprehensive support services, including psychosocial counselling and medical care, to support their recovery, safety, and reintegration.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said it remains committed to dismantling networks involved in sexual exploitation and the production of obscene material.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing to determine the full scope of the alleged operations, identify other suspects, and ensure those responsible face justice.
