DCI Arrests Woman Linked to Kajiado Land Fraud Case

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Nancy Wamuyu Njai, who was wanted over allegations of land fraud involving property transactions in Kajiado County.

The suspect was apprehended by officers from the DCI Headquarters’ Land Fraud Investigations Unit (LFIU) while executing a warrant of arrest issued by the Kajiado Chief Magistrate’s Court on December 17, 2025.

Njai is currently being processed and is expected to appear before the Kajiado Law Courts on Friday, July 10, 2026, where she will face charges alongside her co-accused, Josephat Gichuge Mwirabua alias “Kabeabea” and Robert Mwarangu. The two were arrested earlier and have already taken plea.

According to investigators, the case relates to alleged fraudulent land dealings involving plots sold by Diamond Property Merchants Ltd at Bethany Phase III in Kajiado County between September and December 2016.

The complainants reportedly purchased the plots after being promised ownership documents and additional returns from greenhouse agribusiness projects that were to be established on the land.

However, investigations revealed that the title to the property was allegedly transferred to the wife of Mwirabua, who is said to have later subdivided the land, sold portions to other buyers and obtained a Sh15 million bank loan using the title as security.

The DCI further stated that potential investors were allegedly attracted through advertisements by Nguzo International, a company associated with Njai, which promoted greenhouse farming ventures linked to the purchased plots.

The Land Fraud Investigations Unit continues to pursue cases involving fraudulent property transactions and has urged members of the public to conduct thorough due diligence before purchasing land by verifying ownership documents through relevant government agencies.
