President William Ruto remains the leading choice among Kenyan voters in the race for the 2027 General Election, according to the latest Infotrak opinion poll released on Monday.

The survey places the Head of State ahead of a crowded field of potential presidential candidates, while also highlighting shifting political dynamics across the country.
The poll shows Ruto commanding 32 per cent support, maintaining a significant lead over his closest challenger, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who obtained 13 per cent.
Although Ruto remains the frontrunner, the figures indicate he is still well below the 50 per cent plus one threshold required to secure victory in the first round of a presidential election, suggesting a highly competitive race if current trends persist.
One of the biggest surprises in the survey is the emergence of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who is tied with former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i at 12 per cent support.
Sifuna’s rise signals his growing national appeal beyond his traditional support base, reflecting increased public recognition following his outspoken role in national politics. His performance places him among the country’s leading opposition figures despite being a first-term senator.
Matiang’i’s ranking reinforces his continued relevance in Kenya’s political landscape. Despite remaining relatively quiet since leaving government, the former Interior CS appears to retain considerable goodwill among voters who associate him with firm public administration and service delivery.
The survey also assessed public preferences for President Ruto’s running mate. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki emerged as the overwhelming favourite, outperforming other potential running mates drawn from across the country.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga emerged second nationally with 11 per cent support, followed by Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga at 9 per cent.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula tied at 2 per cent each in the national ranking.
