Kenya Railways Releases Official Fare Structure for Nyahururu Safari Train

Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has officially released the full fare structure for the Nyahururu Safari Train, providing passengers with clear pricing details for both Economy and First Class services.

The fare chart covers journeys from Nairobi to Nyahururu and all intermediate stations, including Kibera, Satellite, Lenana, Dagoretti, Kikuyu, Muguga, Limuru, Uplands, Naivasha, Gilgil, and Ol Kalou.

In Economy Class, travel from Nairobi to Nyahururu costs Ksh 600, while the fare to Ol Kalou is Ksh 550 and to Gilgil Ksh 450. The lowest fare is on the Ol Kalou–Nyahururu section at just Ksh50, making it one of the most affordable rail trips in the country.

Shorter distances within the Nairobi metropolitan area, such as to Kibera, Satellite or Lenana, are priced at Ksh 80. Medium-range trips to stations like Kijabe and Longonot range between Ksh 150 and Ksh 300, depending on the exact destination.

For passengers preferring more comfort, First Class fares are significantly higher. A ticket from Nairobi to Nyahururu costs Ksh 1,300, while the fare to Ol Kalou stands at Ksh 1,160 and to Gilgil at Ksh 960. First Class travel from Nairobi to Naivasha is priced at Ksh 720.

Short-distance travellers are also set to benefit from affordable First Class fares, with journeys between adjacent stations such as Naivasha, Morendat, Ilkek and Gilgil costing Ksh240.

Kenya Railways has encouraged members of the public to use the official fares for accurate budgeting and has invited anyone seeking clarification to contact their customer service team.
