Police Recover Stolen Phones, Kenya Power Meters in Dandora Crackdown

Five suspected members of a criminal gang linked to a wave of robberies, mobile phone snatching, and theft of Kenya Power token meters in Dandora have been arrested following a police operation conducted by officers from Dandora Police Station.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were apprehended on Monday, May 26, during a targeted intelligence-led operation carried out within Dandora Phase III in Nairobi.

Police said the operation was informed by intelligence reports and heightened surveillance aimed at dismantling organised criminal networks operating within the area.

During the raid, officers stormed a mobile phone repair shop suspected to have been used as a hideout and distribution point for stolen property.

A total of 21 mobile phones of various makes and models believed to have been stolen from members of the public through snatching incidents and robberies were recovered from the premises.

Officers also recovered 12 Kenya Power token meters suspected to have been illegally removed from residential houses within the estates.

The five suspects were taken into police custody pending further investigations and arraignment in court.

The NPS said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and enhance security within Nairobi estates.

Police further reiterated their commitment to sustained crackdowns targeting criminal gangs and individuals involved in theft and robbery-related offences.
