A Jacaranda Bunge la Mwananchi leader has been arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over alleged inflammatory remarks aimed at President William Ruto.

In a statement on Wednesday, the DCI identified the suspect as Evans Onyango Kawala, also known as Kidero Jasuba.
He was arrested at the Shujaa Mall area in Kayole during an operation conducted by detectives attached to the Operations Support Unit (OSU).
According to the agency, the suspect is accused of making and sharing highly inciteful public utterances that went viral across various social media platforms and posed a threat to public cohesion and national stability.
“Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a suspect linked to inflammatory public utterances that have gone viral across social media platforms, with content deemed highly inciteful and a serious threat to public cohesion and national stability,” DCI stated in a statement.
The DCI said Kawala is currently in custody undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment in court.
The investigative agency further warned members of the public against making statements or sharing content that could incite violence, spread hatred, or undermine peace and national unity.
“Such acts amount to serious offences, and those found culpable will face firm legal action in accordance with the law,” the DCI stated.
