A multi-agency team of detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Mombasa, working jointly with county officers, has arrested two suspects in a narcotics bust in Kwa Hola Village.

Acting on intelligence, the officers raided a rented house where they arrested 42-year-old Mwanaisha Abdalla Gona and 37-year-old Nancy Njeri.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the officers stormed a rented house at Kwa Hola Village, where they arrested 42-year-old Mwanaisha Abdalla Gona alongside his accomplice, 37-year-old Nancy Njeri,” DCI noted.
“What detectives uncovered inside the house exposed a silent but deadly drug den operating right under the noses of unsuspecting residents,” DCI added.
During the operation, detectives recovered 902 rolls of cannabis sativa wrapped in khaki paper and ready for distribution, weighing approximately 300 kilograms.
Officers also seized 3 kilograms of skunk packed in sachets and 300 grammes of heroin, with an estimated street value of KSh2.19 million.
Investigators further recovered a digital weighing scale and packaging materials suspected to have been used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics, pointing to what authorities believe was an organized drug trafficking network.
The suspects were escorted to Chaani Police Station, where they are being held pending arraignment in court. The recovered drugs were secured as exhibits.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said it remains committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks across the country through intensified operations.
