Police in Mtwapa, Kilifi South Sub-County, have arrested a suspect and recovered a cache of suspected stolen property during an intelligence-led operation conducted within Mtwapa Township.

The operation, carried out by officers from Mtwapa Police Station, led to the recovery of assorted items believed to have been stolen, including multiple gas cylinders, mobile phones, television sets, electronic equipment, household appliances, jewellery, SIM cards and other household goods.

According to police, the suspect was arrested on the spot and taken into custody at Mtwapa Police Station, where he is being held pending arraignment in court.

The recovered items have been secured as exhibits and are expected to aid ongoing investigations and subsequent court proceedings.

Authorities said the operation forms part of sustained efforts to combat property crime in the area through intelligence-led policing and community cooperation.

Investigations into the source of the recovered items and possible links to other theft incidents are ongoing.
