A team of officers drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters, have apprehended a prime suspect implicated in the mobilisation and financing of goons in Trans-Nzoia County.

In a well-coordinated crackdown on criminal elements, detectives, alongside police officers from Trans Nzoia, nabbed Andrew Kimungui Wamalwa, suspected of Mobilising criminal gangs in the region.
Acting on credible intelligence, the team executed a well-planned raid on the residence of Andrew Wamalwa.
A thorough search uncovered a cache of incriminating evidence, including reflector jackets designed for mobilisation, stickers, three swords, and other materials linked to his illicit operations.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Wamalwa is a key figure in mobilising suspected gangs in the Kipsongo area, linked to a series of criminal activities that have threatened the safety and peace of residents across Trans-Nzoia County.
In a similar operation in Mitume and Miti Moja neighborhoods of Kitale, law enforcement officers apprehended eleven goons, namely; Ken Onyango, Felix Odhiambo, Simon Wafula, Maxwell Ochieng, Ian Fwamba, Nesta Otieno, Reagan Odhiambo, Stanley Yasiro, James Odipo, Duncan Elisha, and Hilary Wafula.
Upon arrest, officers recovered laptops, gas cylinders and other items looted from innocent members of the public.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment. Authorities are also pursuing additional leads to arrest other suspected goons and their financiers who remain at large.
