Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has announced the death of her long-serving secretary, Warina Rosemary, describing her as a loyal and disciplined public servant.

In a his heartfelt tribute issued on Wednesday April 15, Governor Kang’ata said that the late Rosemary was dedicated and played a central role in the day-to-day operations of the Governor’s office.
Kang’ata however did not reveal the cause of her death.
“We mourn the passing of Warina Rosemary, long-serving secretary in the Governor’s office. For years, she served with loyalty, discipline, and quiet grace. She was the steady hand behind our work and the warm smile in our long days,” he said.
The Governor, who has led Murang’a County since 2022, after previously serving as senator and Kiharu MP, said Rosemary’s death is not only a loss to the Governor’s office but to the entire county government.
He also extended his condolences to Rosemary’s family, offering his sympathy and support during their time of grief.
“Murang’a has lost a faithful public servant. We have lost a friend. To her family: thank you for sharing her with us. May God grant you strength, and may her soul rest in peace,” Kang’ata added.
Rosemary had served in a similar capacity under former Governor Mwangi wa Iria, who led the county for two terms between 2013 and 2022.
