Kenya Airways has announced flight diversions due to low visibility affecting operations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

In a statement issued on Friday April 10, 2026, Kenya Airways informed customers to brave for flight delays for departures and arrivals.
The national carrier added that some of the flights have been diverted to Moi International Airport (MIA), in Mombasa.
“We wish to inform our customers to expect some flight delays for departures and arrivals due to low visibility affecting operations at JKIA. Some of our flights have been diverted to Moi International Airport, Mombasa,” read the statement.
Kenya Airways noted that the decision to divert flights was taken strictly for safety reasons, both for passengers onboard and crew on the ground.
“Flight diversion is a necessary safety precaution to ensure the safety of all onboard and remains our highest priority,” the Airline said.
The airline indicated that its teams are monitoring the situation and affirmed that operations will return to normal as soon as weather conditions improve. It also issued an apology to passengers affected by the disruptions.
“Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and will adjust our flight network and operations as soon as the weather conditions improve,” it said.
