Police Arrest Drug Trafficker in Kisumu Amid Intensified Anti-Drug Operations

Police in Kisumu City have apprehended one suspect in connection with the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs.

The National Police Service said officers, while on a routine patrol within the city, intercepted a public service vehicle and on conducting a search, discovered two sacks of bhang concealed in the vehicle’s boot.

According to the officers, the consignment weighed approximately 90 kilograms and was reportedly being transported to unconfirmed location.

NPS further noted that the suspect is currently in police custody pending arraignment in court, while the recovered narcotics have been secured as exhibits.

The service reiterated that the operation is part of its efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks and protect communities from the harmful effects of illicit drugs.

Members of the public were also urged to report suspicious activities through the emergency hotlines 999,911, or 112, or via the #FichuaKwaDCI toll-free line 0800 722 203 and WhatsApp number 0709 570 000.

“The Police have intensified operations targeting the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public safety and combat substance abuse,” NPS stated.
