The National Police Service (NPS) has officially received 10,000 new recruits following the successful completion of recruitment exercise countrywide on Monday November 17, 2025.

In a statement issued on Monday November 24, the police service stated that the enlisted qualified young Kenyans will boost NPS’s policing capacity and support the ongoing reforms.
NPS further stated that the new recruits will report to various training institutions including the National Police College Main Campus (Kiganjo), Embakasi ‘A’, and Embakasi ‘B’ training Campus.
“Following the recruitment, today, 24 November 2025, marked a significant milestone as the recruits reported to various designated training institutions, including the National Police College Main Campus (Kiganjo), Embakasi ‘A’, and Embakasi ‘B’ training Campus,” the NPS statement read in part.
According to NPS, the recruits, having met all the rigorous recruitment standards, will undergo intensive training, covering a wide range of policing areas to prepare them for their duties as police officers.
The young officers will also be equipped with knowledge, discipline and professionalism required to serve Kenyans with integrity.
NPS also congratulated the recruits for successfully completing their rigorous selection process and urged the to serve with integrity and dedication.
“The National Police Service congratulates all the recruits and wishes them the best as they undertake the rigorous training,” the statement read.
The service affirmed its commitment to its mission: “To provide effective, people-centric, and accountable policing services for a safe and prosperous society.”
This comes days after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) apprehended a suspect in Kilimani, Nairobi, accused of orchestrating a police recruitment scam, swindling Ksh2.5, from unsuspecting victims.
The suspect, Benard Odeng’ero Wekesa, was arrested after three victims reported the matter. The victims narrated that Wekesa had promised them guaranteed admission into the Police Service.
