President William Ruto has revealed that he has invited English Premier League champions Arsenal F.C. to visit Kenya following widespread celebrations by the club’s supporters across the country after their league title victory.

Speaking to Reuters during an interview on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, Ruto said he was surprised by the scale of celebrations that erupted in Nairobi after Arsenal secured their first league title in more than two decades.
“Arsenal finally closed the gap and it was a huge celebration. I was shocked in Nairobi,” the President said.
He noted that the jubilant scenes demonstrated the club’s immense popularity among Kenyan football fans, prompting him to extend an invitation for the team to visit the country.
“It was a big celebration and I am trying to see whether sometime next year Arsenal can come to Kenya,” Ruto said.
The President disclosed that an official invitation has already been sent to the North London club, expressing optimism that a visit would provide an opportunity for the team to connect with its large fan base in Kenya.
“I have sent an invitation because I think it would be a great moment for Arsenal to come to Kenya. They have great fans,” he added.
Arsenal enjoys one of the largest football followings in Kenya, with thousands of supporters regularly gathering to watch the club’s matches. The team’s recent title success sparked celebrations in several parts of the country, particularly in Nairobi, where fans took to the streets to mark the historic achievement.
