An aircraft crash-landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday, June 11, triggering an emergency response operation at the busy aviation hub.

Kenya Red Cross and the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) have both confirmed the incident, saying they are currently conducting rescue operations at the scene.
However, the two agencies did not disclose the cause of the crash. The number of casualties or injuries had also not been immediately established at the time of the report.
“An aircraft incident involving a crash landing has been reported at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Kenya Red Cross first responders are en route to the scene to support ongoing rescue operations, alongside Port Health Services and EMS Kenya ambulance services,” Kenya Red Cross said.
KAA also confirmed the incident; “KAA is currently responding to an emergency situation at JKIA. Emergency response teams & agencies have been activated & are managing the situation in accordance with established emergency procedures.”
