Police in Ilbisil, Oloililai Sub-County, Kajiado County, have recovered 29 stolen donkeys following a swift dawn operation based on actionable intelligence from local administration officials.

According to the National Police Service, officers intercepted the animals being driven from Lorngosua towards Bisil Township, leading to the arrest of one suspect. Two others managed to escape, prompting a multi-agency manhunt to track them down.
Twenty-five of the recovered donkeys have already been identified and returned to their owners, while four remain pending identification.
“The recovery operation was triggered by actionable intelligence from the local administration. The officers intercepted the animals being driven from Lorngosua towards Bisil Township and successfully arrested one suspect, while two managed to flee,” NPS stated.
Police have commended National Government Administration Officers and members of the public for providing timely information that led to the successful recovery, as well as the officers involved in the operation.
In a related incident on May 18 in Kona Village, Ngaremara, Isiolo County, security officers recovered 100 sheep and goats after suspected bandits raided livestock belonging to local herders.
The attackers had attempted to move the animals through the rugged terrain when a multi-agency security team launched a rapid pursuit operation.
The stolen livestock were successfully recovered before they could be moved further or concealed in remote areas.
