United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced that it will conduct grassroots elections in the remaining 20 counties on Saturday January 10, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s National Elections Board (NEB) Anthony Mwaura, the resolution followed a meeting between the National Executive Committee (NEC) and NEB.
“Following the joint meeting between the UDA Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the NEB, chaired by Deputy Party Leader Kithure Kindiki, it was resolved that the party conduct Grassroots Elections in the remaining 20 counties where the polls have not been held,” Mwaura said.
The grassroots elections will be conducted in counties among them Baringo, Bomet, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kericho, Nakuru, Nandi and Trans Nzoia.
Other counties include Uasin Gishu, Samburu, Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang’a, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Kakamega and Vihiga.
Mwaura also noted that aspirants interested in the party positions will be required to register on the portal from December 4, 2025 to December 23, 2025. He added that the campaigning period will run up to January 10.
“The official notice for purposes of the Grassroots Elections will be issued by the National Elections Board (NEB) on December 4, 2025,” Mwaura said.
“After the registration of the candidates, aspirants will have a campaigning period that will run up to January 10, when elections will be conducted,” he added.
This comes after the President Ruto led party registered victory in 12 out of the 21 seats it fielded candidates during the just-concluded by-elections. UDA cliched Baringo Senate, Mbeere North, Malava and Banisa parliamentary positions.
The wars the party successfully secured include Metkei-Elgeyo Marakwet, Tembelio-Uasin Gishu, Purko-Kajiado, Chemundu-Nandi, Lake Zone-Turkana, Nanaam-Turkana, Angata Nyanyokie-Samburu and Chewani-Tana River.
