The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismissed information circulating online that the Kware murders suspect, Collins Jumaisi, is in their custody.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the DCI clarified that Jumaisi is still on the run and that the intelligence regarding his re-arrest is false.
The investigative agency noted that an intensive hunt for the suspect is ongoing, appealing to the public to provide any leads that may assist in his re-apprehension.
“The DCI continues to appeal to members of the public with information about his whereabouts to share it with us through our toll-free number 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp number 0709 570 000,” the statement read.
Collins Jumaisi escaped from Gigiri Police Station in August 2024 after being arrested in connection with the killing of 42 women and dumping their bodies at Kware dump site, a few metres from a police post.
He was arrested on Monday July 15, 2024, with police alleging he confessed to killing 42 women since 2022, including his own wife.
However, his lawyer informed the court that Jumaisi was tortured into making a confession.
The DCI has offered a 1 million shillings reward to anyone with information that could aid in Jumaisi’s arrest.
