Police officers from South B Police Station have apprehended ten suspects linked to a notorious criminal group known as the ‘Tokyo Mafias’.

The National Police Service (NPS) said the suspects were arrested on Saturday April 11, following intelligence and support from members of the public.
The suspects were cornered and arrested in separate hideouts within Fuata Nyayo and Shimo La Tewa.
“The operation, which commenced following intelligence and support from members of the public, targeted criminal hideouts within the Fuata Nyayo and Shimo La Tewa areas,” NPS said in a statement.
NPS further noted that the suspects were found in possession of an imitation firearm and other lethal weapons, including pangas and swords.
The team also recovered two television sets suspected to be stolen property, alongside various house-breaking implements used to facilitate burglaries within the sub-region.
All ten suspects have been placed in custody at South B Police Station, awaiting processing and arraignment in court.
