KURA announces a 3-week traffic disruption along Ngong Road

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has notified the public of traffic disruption along Ngong Road around Junction Mall area, in Nairobi.

In a notice published on Thursday November 6, KURA stated that the disruption will last for 3 weeks, starting from Tuesday, 18th November 2025 to Wednesday, 10th December 2025.

KURA asserted that the disruption will result from the expected erection of a steel structure for the flyover currently under construction in the area.

“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road around the Junction Mall Area effective Tuesday, 18th November 2025, to Wednesday, 10th December 2025,” the statement read.

“The disruption is to allow for the erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction.”

As per KURA’s notice, work will be carried as from 8:00pm to 5:00pm daily except on Sundays, throughout the stated period.

The authority also explained that traffic will be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to accommodate two-way traffic within the section.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while approaching the affected section and observe all traffic signs. KURA added that police officers and traffic marshals will be on site to ensure smooth traffic flow.

The Junction Mall Flyover project features a 4-lane flyover, improved junctions, walkways & cycling lanes, set to ease congestion and boost urban mobility, with its completion set for July 2027.
