The daughter of Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) CEO Captain William Ruto, Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi, will be buried this Friday, April 10, at their Kabarak home in Nakuru County, the family has announced.

Mitchell Jelimo lost her life last Friday evening in Taveta constituency, Taita Taveta county, following a tragic road accident.
Jelimo was travelling with her family to Serengeti National Park for the Easter holidays when their car collided with a stationary trailer that had broken down on the road without any warning signage.
She died on the spot, while other family members sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that our Chief Executive Officer, Capt. William K. Ruto was involved in a tragic road accident yesterday evening while travelling with his family,” KPA said in a statement on Saturday, April 4.
Adding, “Regrettably, his daughter did not survive the accident. We extend our thoughts and deepest condolences to Capt. Ruto and his family during this time of immense grief.”
According to the funeral programme released by the family, there will be a fundraiser to support funeral expenses at Mochongoi in Baringo South constituency, Baringo county, on Tuesday, April 7, starting from 2 pm.
On Wednesday, the body of Jelimo will be removed from the Mombasa hospital mortuary and transported to Nakuru county.
A funeral service will then be held at Mochongoi on Thursday, starting from 10 am. Burial will then take place at Captain Ruto’s home in Kabarak on Friday.
