Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi, who was allegedly abducted on Sunday by unknown people, has been found alive but unconscious, dumped in Jacaranda Coffee Plantation, Kibichoi, Ruiru.

In a circulating video, MP Koimburi is seen to have been severely injured and in critical condition. Reports indicate that he was later rushed to a hospital in Ruiru for medical attention.
On Sunday, May 25, Hon. Koimburi was allegedly kidnapped just outside Full Gospel Church in Mugutha, where he had gone to pray, as worshippers watched in disbelief.
According to Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa, he was grabbed by people claimed to be DCI officers. Senator Thang’wa added that the MP’s wife, Mama Shiru, was injured in the incident.
“Juja MP George Koimburi has just been abducted again by the Subaru men. This time, they grabbed him right outside Full Gospel Church in Mugutha where he had gone to worship. Not even the screams from the worshippers could stop the DCI,” Senator Thang’wa said.

He added: “And worse — his wife Mama Shiru is injured. She was forcefully removed from the Subaru after insisting she should be arrested together with her husband. This is the second time. In broad daylight. Right after church. What kind of country are we becoming?” he posed.
The Juja lawmaker, who is an ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was first arrested on February 18, 2025, after making claims that the government had spent over Ksh13 billion of taxpayers’ money to woo African presidents to vote for Raila Odinga as the Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
He was later presented at Kiambu Law Courts, where he was charged with forging academic certificates.
Earlier, former DP Rigathi Gachagua had condemned the Kenya Kwanza government for targeting and intimidating his allies and followers. Gachagua, who was speaking at a church service in Murang’a County, said the government was on a mission.
