Jubilee Party Makes Leadership Changes, Elevates Jeremiah Kioni to Deputy Party Leader

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has announced a series of changes to its leadership as part of efforts to strengthen the organizational structures in preparation for the 2027 General Election.

In statement issued on Thursday January 22, 2026, the Party confirmed the elevation of Jeremiah Kioni to the deputy party leader position.

According to the party, Kioni’s role would be to strengthen party structures, ensuring compliance with party processes, coordinating operations from the grassroots to the national level, and leading the party’s engagement and alliance-building with key political and societal stakeholders

The party indicated that former Narok MP Hon. Ole Kenta, is the new Secretary General replacing Jeremiah Kioni.

“The party calls upon all members, supporters, partners, and Kenyans of goodwill to accord Hon Kenta full cooperation and support as he undertakes this important and demanding responsibility,” the party stated.

While making the announcement, Matiang’i confirmed that the changes were affected by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

“The NEC decided this morning to approve the proposal and appoint Ole Kenta as our new Secretary General. Ole Kenta is a very Solid and respected political player, and we are very grateful for the work that he has done,” Matiang’i said.

Other appointments include Hon. Zack Kinuthia as the Deputy Party SG, Hon. Yassin Noor Haji as the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Vincent Mogaka Kimoki as the Chairperson and Mr. Dan Mwangi as the Executive Director.

Mr. Kiembi Gitura will be the Director of Elections, Hon. Peter Kados, Chair, MCA Caucus and Hon. Saitoti Torome will lead the Jubilee Foundation (Public Policy)

The Party stated that the changes reflect a deliberate shift toward rebuilding a disciplined, well-structured, and nationally rooted party capable of articulating clear solutions to the challenges facing Kenyans.
