Isiolo South Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Tubi Bidu Mohamed has passed away while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Hon. Tubi Bidu, who was serving his first term as an MP, died on Wednesday November 12, following a short illness.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula announced the death of the leader, describing it as a “profound loss to the parliament and the nation”.
The late Hon. Bidu was first elected on a Jubilee Party ticket in August 2022, making it his first term in the National Assembly. He had also made his mark in county leadership serving as the inaugural speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017 before joining the parliament.
Before his death, he served on the Departmental Committee on Environment, forestry and mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee. His colleagues have described him as a soft-spoken but firm legislator who was dedicated to issues of environmental conservation and grassroots development.
The family disclosed that the MP had been sick for several weeks and was admitted in the ICU at the Nairobi Hospital when his condition worsened.
President William Ruto led the country in mourning Hon. Tibu, hailing him as a “dedicated public servant” and “a passionate advocate for education.”
“Hon. Tubi will be remembered as a leader who believed in empowering communities through knowledge and opportunity. His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” said the president in a message of condolence shared on his socials.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi also extended his heartfelt condolences, describing the lawmaker as a humble and diligent leader who worked tirelessly for the people of Isiolo South.
“My deepest condolences to the family, relatives, friends and the people of Isiolo County on the passing of Hon. Tubi Bidu Mohamed. He served his people with distinction and humility,” said Mudavadi.
Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale, described the legislature as a respected elder and a dedicated leader. He asserted that his death is a loss to the people of Northern Kenya.
“Hon. Tubi served his constituents with commitment and humility since his election in 2022. May Allah have mercy on him and grant his family patience,” Duale said.
