Arteta’s side went all the way to the Semi finals but lost to the Castles in both legs with an aggregate scores of 4-0 and were also knocked out of the FA Cup.

UCL was their only tittle remaining as Liverpool pooled a stunning finish in the Premier League campaign and were crowned champions with the Arteta’s side gobbling fo the second position which is not an automatic position since they are just 4 points ahead of Manchester City.

With 3 games left for the season to end, Arsenal could find themselves dropping past top 4 if they fail to secure points in their remaining matches.

Speaking in a post match interview, Arteta expressed his disappointment after loosing his last chance to lift a trophy, praising his team for the efforts they placed in throughout the competition.

“I do not think there’s been a better team than us in Champions League so far. Today I see how much our players want it, because they were in tears,” Arteta said.

The coach further stated that the best team lost, and that was his view, claiming that he was just insisting on what PSG bench had said.

“I’m saying that and they, PSG bench, are saying that because they just told me,” he added.

A notion that PSG Coach Luis Enrique quickly dismissed when asked his take on Arteta’s comments, claiming the best team is the one he scored.

“I don’t agree at all. They played in a clever way today but in the two legs we scored more goals than them and that is the most important thing in football. We deserve to be in the final,” said the Coach.
