The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and the commencement of Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) in five electoral areas ahead of upcoming by-elections.

According to a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette dated June 24, 2026, the exercise will run from Thursday, June 25, to Saturday, July 25, 2026, following the declaration of vacancies in the affected electoral units.
The registration exercise will be conducted in Mbeere North Constituency Porro County Assembly Ward in Samburu West Constituency, Endo County Assembly Ward in Marakwet East Constituency, Emurua Dikirr Constituency and Malava Constituency.
“IEBC gives notice that there will be Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) of voters from Thursday, 25th June, 2026 to Saturday, 25th July, 2026 in the following electoral areas: Mbeere North Constituency, Porro County Assembly Ward in Samburu West Constituency, Endo County Assembly Ward in Marakwet East Constituency, Emurua Dikirr Constituency and Malava Constituency,” stated IEBC.
The Commission said eligible Kenyan citizens aged 18 years and above with a valid national identity card or Kenyan passport will be able to register as voters, transfer their voter registration to another electoral area, update or correct their registration details, and verify their voter registration status.
Registration services will be available daily at constituency offices, Huduma Centres, institutions of higher learning within the affected areas, and the IEBC Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers. The exercise will also be conducted at the county assembly ward level.
The Gazette further states that registered voters seeking to transfer their registration must visit the IEBC constituency office of their preferred electoral area, while those updating their details should report to the constituency office where they are currently registered.
The Commission noted that, after the enhanced registration exercise ends, continuous voter registration and regular revision of the register will continue at constituency offices from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Registration services at Huduma Centres will also continue beyond the exercise until otherwise communicated.
However, the IEBC clarified that continuous voter registration and revision of the register will not be undertaken in Ol Kalou Constituency during the period of the ongoing by-election.
“Continuous Voter Registration and Revision of the Register shall not be undertaken in OI Kalou Constituency during the period of the ongoing By-Election,” stated IEBC.
