The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has confirmed that the death toll from ongoing floods has risen to 110, as relentless rains continue to wreak havoc across the country.

In its latest update, the ministry said the situation remains critical as heavy rains continue to impact multiple regions.
“We are intensifying emergency response efforts to assist affected communities and highlight the growing severity of the disaster,” said the ministry.
At least 30 counties are now affected, including Kilifi, Bungoma, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, and Mandera, which were recently added to the list.
Nairobi has suffered the highest number of fatalities, with 37 deaths, followed by the Eastern region 26, Rift Valley 14 Nyanza 11 Coast five , Central six and Western two.
Beyond the loss of life, floods have displaced thousands. The ministry reports that 6,953 households, roughly 34,765 people, have been forced to leave their homes due to rising water levels, landslides, and structural damage.
“We are working tirelessly to relocate families to safer areas and provide them with food, medical care, and temporary shelter,” said the ministry spokesperson.
Officials are urging residents in affected and high-risk areas to adhere strictly to safety guidelines.
“Do not attempt to cross flooded roads or return to unsafe areas. Your safety is the top priority as rains continue,” advised .
